I’ve been doing a bit more of this. I think I should have used white thread on the top, but I’m certainly not unpicking. I’m about two thirds of the way through.

This one didn’t register very well and if I have any fabric left at the end I will make another.

Another block finished – and yes that does mean a bit more ironing got done.

I’ve finished another block for my Alphabet Quilt.
I like to do machine embroidery while tackling the ironing. It means I can keep an eye on my machine and the ironing doesn’t seem as tedious.
I still have an ironing pile so ‘N’ might happen today as well …
Oh and this is my 200th post – how cool is that?

I’ve been working away on Miss A’s scarf. The pattern in the yarn is quite extraordinary and unexpected.
The yarn is Panda Magnum (8ply) and the pattern is from here.
I bought a copy of The Knitter magazine – it is beautiful, high production values and lovely (although I imagine tricky) patterns.
I’ve decided to try this one …

It is ‘Rhapsody’ by Jean Moss (it’s in Issue 6) I bought the yarn – Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk DK in fuschia from here (they have an amazing range of wool but their customer service is poor).

My knitting hasn’t gone very well. I got to here …

and had to unpick it all and start again. This is where I am up to now …

I think the pattern in the colours looks a bit better this time around.

As school holidays are over, I have a bit of time for quilting. This is my Mod 9 Quilt. I’m just doing some free motion quilting – a bit of a swirly all over design.

It’s Miss A’s birthday soon and I wanted to have something for her party bag that is not sugar or cheap plastic rubbish. I made these fabric covered button hair lackys. Very easy. I bought the self-covering button kits from Spot Light. The trick though was to find thin enough hair lackys to fit through the button shank.
It’s also an opportunity to use all of those tiny bits of fabric.

I finished the friend of this sock.

I was quite pleased that I was able to pick the project up again after six months and make an (almost) identical friend. I took notes!
I think my next knitting project is going to be a scarf…

I finished my hot-water bottle cover. It was an extremely easy (and quick) project. It’s not quite perfect – the position of the eyelets is too low. I should have tried it on the hot-water bottle and started the double rib 5cm later (if that makes sense).
Designs by JuJu are having a buy 1 get 3 free sale (until the end of June). I picked up these sets …
