Oh Dear!

My knitting hasn’t gone very well. I got to here …

and had to unpick it all and start again. This is where I am up to now …

I think the pattern in the colours looks a bit better this time around.

Hot-Water Bottle Cover Finished

finished

I finished my hot-water bottle cover. It was an extremely easy (and quick) project. It’s not quite perfect – the position of the eyelets is too low. I should have tried it on the hot-water bottle and started the double rib 5cm later (if that makes sense).

Designs by JuJu are having a buy 1 get 3 free sale (until the end of June). I picked up these sets …

Moss Stitch Knitting

I’ve started another baby cardigan. As I wanted to try something different, I’m using moss stitch. I didn’t realise how slow I would be. However, I love the effect.

Handbag or Something Else?

I’ve knitted the two sides of a handbag (haven’t sewn it together yet), but I don’t think I will ever use it as a bag. Hence I’m thinking about taking it apart and knitting something else. I’ve got three balls, so maybe a dolly blanket?

Cardigan

A bit more knitting. I’ve finished the knitting now and just need to sew it together. As I haven’t done that before, it should be interesting…

Vanilla Oat Biscuits and Other Stuff

I dug out my copy of The Gentle Art of Domesiticity looking for a bit of baking inspiration.  I made the vanilla oat biscuits, which were very easy to bake (and were quite popular with A and P). I can’t find a recipe online, but here are some of Jane Brocket’s other recipes.  I haven’t included a photo because mine look very ugly (unlike Ms Brocket’s).

On the knitting front, I’ve almost finished my cardigan (just the collar to go). I’m not that impressed with my knitting… I hope it is simply a matter of practice. I’ve also bought more yarn (off Ebay) – Jo Sharp Classic DK Wool in Ink. I bought 5 balls, so now I need to think of a project.

Knitting

I’ve been using my limited craft time to knit. I’ve moved on from socks to a very simple cardigan. It’s knit on one piece – except for the collar – and then the side seams and sleeves are sewn together.

The Pattern is from here

I’ve also bought more wool. Sirdar Bigga in Damson Mist.
