A new sock project

A new sock

As you can see from the image, I have finished one sock and I am now working on the second.

I do like the stripy yarn.

I am using the stitch pattern from Hermione’s Everyday Sock Pattern (ravelry link), but I am using my usual sock recipe.

The leg is a bit longer than usual because I was enjoying the stripes.

Hermione Socks

The pattern on the leg and the top of the foot are from the Hermione Everyday Sock pattern, but I used my own ‘recipe’ for the sock. The yarn is Rhichard Devrieze – Peppino. One skein is 65g, which might be enough for a pair of socks, but I didn’t want to risk it, so bought two skeins. I’m using 2.25mm knit pro zings (magic loop method).

Knitting Hermione Socks

Hermione Socks

Hermione Socks

I have been busy – too busy. I have taken on too much and I am feeling over-whelmed. I’m slowly extricating myself and finding more time for craft.

I have been working (slowly) on my Hermione sock – I think I have gone a bit astray (is it because the instructions are for two circulars and I’m using double points?). I don’t think it matters – this sock is all about the process, finding a bit of quiet in each day. I have taken notes, so I should be able to make the second sock look like the first.

The yarn is beautiful – hand dyed from here.
