Crafty Update – Travel Log

Image of an open book with stitched pictures - paris skyline, london skyline and a viking ship

I have been making a stitched journal of my travels to England and France.

The left half I have stitched on a separate piece of cardstock. I will add these to my book when I get to that section. The Viking ship is to remind me about our trip to the Viking Museum in York.

For the two skylines, I bought a line drawing from Etsy and printed onto the cardstock using my cricut. Then I stitched them – back stitch and punched holes.

The Viking ship I also found on Etsy (a whole Viking collective), but I stitched this directly into my book.

Paper Embroidery

Image of red embroidered writing on a white background. 'Indulge Your Imagination In Every Possible Flight"

I am enjoying paper embroidery – I have all sorts of plans. The above is a quote by Jane Austen.

I used a paper stitch font from Flourishing Fibers, DMC cotton (colour 666) on water colour paper.

I am using my new Golden Forge scissors to hold the page down. I love these scissors, by using these to trim the ends of threads I can thread any needle (including size 12s)
