I have started working on May’s poem.
I am using stem stitch. I am finding the thread (silk perlee) is unravelling.

Shipping was being a bit of a bug bear with the Tender Whispers group – for example, my April supplies didn’t arrive until the end of the month. To avoid that, Rebecca has sent us six months of supplies – such a nice parcel to get.
I have also ordered extra thread – depending upon my chosen quote I will probably run out.

I have 30 stitching projects and I have decided to pick a new one every week using a random number generator. This was the one that came up (number 17). I am feeling a bit over-whelmed.
I have switched to an embroidery needle (from a tapestry needle) to make piercing the thread while doing a pin stitch easier. My pin stitches kept pulling out.

Now that my name tag is out of the way, I can work on my monthly poems.
This is me transferring the poem onto my linen (it’s deadstock french tea towel linen).
I haven’t finished January or February yet, but my extra spools of silk have arrived.

The linen is beautiful (I wonder if I can get more?) and we are using Au ver à soie silk. I have re-instated my hoop stand (this one) and I am finding it is working well. I can position my magnifier in front of it and stitch two handed.
I can’t recommend Rebecca’s courses highly enough – she is a fabulous teacher.

I did the ironing today, so I took the opportunity to remove the hoop, iron this piece and photograph it.
It’s Home Sweet Home by Modern Folk Embroidery – the new pattern is a bit different to this.
I am working on 40 count linen using Au ver à soie 100.3.
I am enjoying planning my stitch path, so I don’t have runs of thread on the back and I don’t have to end threads all of the time.
I am being very monogamous, but I have joined to SALs; Jardin Privé and Clouds Factory. My supplies haven’t arrived yet – I ordered from JKs Cross Stitch Supplies. Once they arrive I will have to decided what to do.

Progress is slow but steady. I have almost made it across the top border.
More project details here.
I am enjoying the 40 count fabric and the Au ver à Soie 100/3 silks.

After all my other embroidery projects (Cinnamon Stars and the RSN crewel work), I want to make the Home Sweet Home sampler from Modern Folk Embroidery. So I have bought a few different reds from Stitchers’ Corner to test. I am going to use this linen (Sand 40 count)
