The project for this term is this from Inspirations Magazine (I bought a digital copy of the pattern)
I am not sure if I am going to frame mine (like in the image above) or do something different.
The thread painting is slow but very satisfying.

I finished Clue 1 of the Goff Place Mystery shawl.
It’s very easy knitting – good TV knitting.
I have to stop for a while though, as I need to make a baby blanket. The pattern is the Hudson Baby Blanket from here.
Here’s my yarn colours
And I am storing it in this bag

These are the Book Binder socks by Helen Stewart.
The yarn is an Opal yarn from here – it only comes in 50g balls (I didn’t pay enough attention and I had to order another one).
2.25mm Knit pro zings.
The pattern is interesting, and would stand out better on a tonal or monochromatic yarn.

I have seen this quilt in person at the Jane Austen House Museum, so when I saw it was available to reproduce in a kit, I was very keen.
It comes in this beautiful box
With all of the fabrics and an instruction booklet, and a template for cutting the diamonds.
Now I just need to get started (and dig out my sewing machine!).

I made a scarf, it’s blocking at the moment.
I used recycled sari silk from the Thread Studio.
The pattern is the Boomerang Shawl.
Mine is quite small, I will need to use a shawl pin to wear it. I should have bought two balls and just kept going.

I have been working on my hexagons (English Paper piecing) – it is very relaxing and doesn’t require anything special (magnification, hoop, etc.). I want to get to a piece that is 40cm by 30cm so I can make the Slow Stitched Huswif – from L’ucello. I already have the pattern. Once I have the base, I am going to embellish.
Originally I was using a guterman cotton thread to sew the hexagons together, but I have swapped to a aurafil 50wt cotton 2846, and it does seem to be a bit easier to make small stitches (less visible from the front).

Stitchers’ corner re-opened in its new location with a new owner, so, of course, I had to go and be supportive. The store is fabulous, so much beautiful stuff (and finally some modern patterns).
I want to try a higher count linen, so I only have to use one strand. The linen above is Newcastle (40 count) in colourway sand. I am also keen to try Au ver à soie 100/3
My plan is to stitch Modern Folk Embroidery’s Home Sweet Home, in a rich shade of red. I like the DMC 321 in the photo above, so I might choose that.
The other things is the LA D Da Needlebook. I saw this on Brenda and the Serial Starter’s flosstube.

This is destined to be a cushion cover.
It has been sitting in my ‘must get around to it’ pile for so long I can”t remember even buying it, but I am determined that this is the year to complete projects and declutter the craft stash. The design is from here and the fabric is bits and pieces from my stash.
Using Vliesofix to hold the applique pieces in place made everything much easier – of course I still have to stitch around each piece, but at least I don’t have to worry about the pieces falling off or slipping around. Just need to remember draw the shapes on the smooth side and iron the rough side to the wrong side of the fabric – I had at least one gooey iron incident when I ironed the wrong side.
I’ve written the pattern for my Diamond Seed socks. You can find on the Sock Patterns tab at the top of the page or here.
